There is always a hub of activity in Connect as we partner with local agencies and
organisations to help develop skills and connect up the community
Our toddler group meets on Monday at 9:30am, Tuesday 9:30am and Wednesday 9:45am for craft and play and singing. It's a great time for parent/ carers and grandparents to meet as well as the children. CAP Job Centre operates from the cafe each week on Thursdays from 10am to noon to help people step into employment and feel better about themselves as they search for work. One third of our job club clients find employment and volunteering after being with us.
Pontypridd Foodbank operates our of Connect to distribute 3 days of balanced meals to people in crisis. Donations of items can be left with us and we are open from 3-4pm on weekdays to distribute to people in receipt of a Foodbank voucher. Keep Fit group meets every Tuesday at 6.30pm in the cafe for various exercises in a circuit-style format which is suitable for people of all ages and abilities. On Mondays from 1pm there is a group that plays Table Tennis in the church and on Thursdays there is a beginners Karate group that meets. A yoga group meets for stretch and relaxation on ~Mondays and Thursdays at 6.30pm. The Parish office has details on 01443 492033
CAP Life Skills equips people on low income to feel better about themselves and more able to cope with the pressures of a limited budget. The group looks at well being, cooking, managing finances and keep calm as a range of skills to develop. The groups meets in Connect and you can contact Liz from more details.
We have computers in the cafe which are free to use and we have free WiFi throughout the building. Our weekly job club can support job seekers in online job searches and there is an information computer help group that meets on on Mondays at 1pm in the cafe and from January 18th there is a computer course to help people with the basics of using a computer, using the internet and writing letters. Monday afternoon at 5.30pm a Craft Group gets together to make things and learn new techniques. We’ve set up our own cooperative so that when there are craft sales, just one of attends on behalf of the group and sells all our wares. come and pop in to join…
